BLT settles dispute with Lantern Maritime

BLT settles dispute with Lantern Maritime
Jakarta: Berlian Laju Tanker (BLT) has managed to resolve a legal tussle with Lantern Maritime and regained control of a chemical tanker which was arrested.

A US court has ordered the release of the 21,300 dwt Partawati after Indonesia-based BLT settled a $55m dispute with Lantern Maritime, an affiliate of Delos Shipping. The terms of the new agreement are confidential.

BLT said the settlement will “bring to an end all litigation and disputes” between the two companies over the formerly seized tanker and a 26,200 dwt Chem Ranger.

Lantern Maritime, however, has not dropped its second complaint against BLT in Connecticut in which it is attempting to freeze cash held by BLT's affiliates by way of attachment, according to court documents.
