Singapore: Braemar Seascope is beefing up in Singapore moving into the deepsea clean product and dirty tanker trades, with plans also to set up a sale and purchase desk. Chris Morrin, a director of Braemar's tanker department who has previously worked in Singapore, will be moving back to start up the deep sea tanker chartering business which will become fully operational from January next year. "The intention is to grow a shipbroking team that can service the chartering demands in the deep sea products trades both clean and dirty as well as short-haul crude within the region. In addition we will be creating a sale and purchase section to enhance our efforts in the region in collaboration with our existing London and Chinese sale and purchase desks," said Denis Petropoulos, executive director of Braemar Shipping Services and joint managing director of Braemar Seascope. VLCC chartering will remain in London. [20/09/10]
