COSCO ready to pump more money into Greece

Athens: China and COSCO are ready to begin investing in Greece, horizontally and vertically in terms of shipping activities, if an agreement with Greek authorities is reached, Capt. Wei Jiafu, president and CEO of COSCO, emphasised during a meeting in Athens with Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping Minister Louka Katseli on Wednesday.?
The meeting, which also included Theodore Veniamis, the president of the Union of Greek Shiponwers, representatives from the tourism and business sectors and the president of the Hellenic Banks' Association, V. Rapanos, covered all business and shipping (ANA-MPA) plans between China and Greece. Capt. Wei is currently on an official four-day visit to Greece, accompanied by high-ranking officials of COSCO, a Chinese state organisation.?COSCO has already established activities at the Ikonio cargo terminal of Piraeus port.
