D'Amico takes up MR options at Hyundai Mipo
Ulsan: D’Amico International Shipping is ordering two more 50,000 dwt MR product/chemical tankers from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard with expected delivery between end-2014 and the beginning of 2015 for about $32m each.

The new orders were part of an option attached to the contracts when it ordered its two ECO-40 Shallowmaxes in July.

The new ships are d'Amico's sixth newbuilding orders in the past five months, said ceo Marco Fiori. The order also has an option attached for another two ships at an attractive price, he added.
