Hong Kong: After nearly nine years at Citibank Charles De Trenck, famed container shipping analyst, is stepping down. His replacement is Vince Fernando.
One of his last missions at Citibank was a swing through the Yangtze delta's up and coming yards.
Here are his thoughts on that trip. 'We remain concerned that China shipyards will show increased delivery issues. We also believe quality issues on many vessel types will remain in background. But evidence shows that many yards are bringing substantial new capacity on in 2008 and that production will ramp up rapidly.'
