Seoul: Qatar-based Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) exporter RasGas has taken delivery of its 13th tanker from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME). The vessel, owned by the consortium that includes Maran Gas Maritime and Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat), was christened the Al Jassasiya at a ceremony at the yard (pictured). RasGas has signed a 20-year time chater on the vessel, which will deliver LNG from the company's facilities at Ras Laffan to various destinations - particularly Korea.
The LNG tanker is the sixth vessel to be built at DSME for the Qatari company and boasts a cargo capacity of 145,700m3.  [17/03/07]
