Seoul: Leading South Korean Shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has announced that it has secured an order to build four Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) for Saudi Arabia-based Vela International Marine Limited that has allowed the shipbuilder to achieve its order target of $17bn for 2007.
"We will hand over four VLCCs worth $604m, each with a capacity of 317,000 tonnes, to Vela International Marine by December 2010 after constructing them in our Okpo shipyard," said a DSME spokesperson. [15/11/07]
