EOC said that the vessel would be chartered for two years with a further one-year option for accommodation and maintenance services in Africa to an undisclosed client. The charter plus options is worth in excess of $40m.
EOC recently chartered sister vessel Lewek Conqueror for a period of five years in Southeast Asia in a deal including options worth over $100m.
“We are pleased that both our accommodation barges, the Lewek Conqueror and the Lewek Chancellor, have secured multi-year awards and we continue to explore other opportunities that may arise in this segment,” said Jason Goh, cfo of EOC.
