Taipei: Evergreen Lineannounced it is to inaugurate a new direct container service to Haifa from the Far East. The service, which will begin operations in September with a single vessel, will see the addition of another vessel in October and be fully operational as a weekly service by November, reports Ningbo Life.
The new service will call at: Hong Kong, Nansha, Ningbo, Shanghai and Tanjung Pelepas; and will continue from Haifa to Limassol, Pireaus and Istanbul.
Evergreen currently operates 161 container vessels with a total capacity of 548,000teu. The Liner giant boasts an orderbook of 24vessels that will increase container capacity to 655,000teu upon delivery in the next few years. [19/08/08]
