The SEM service will employ two ships with around 1,000 teu capacity each. The weekly port rotation will be Shekou, Hong Kong, Kota Kinabalu, Muara, Bintulu, and back to Shekou.
“The new initiative will give a significant boost to the service offered to shippers on this important sector of the intra-Asian trade,” Evergreen said.
Meanwhile, Evergreen will also take space on Interasia Lines’ Singapore-Yangon-Malaysia (SYM) service based on a slot swap arrangement.
The SYM loop will call at Singapore, Yangon, Port Klang, Yangon and back to Singapore, providing Evergreen customers with an additional feeder connection to Yangon, the Taiwanese carrier said.
