Colombo: Singapore's Far Shipping Lines (FSL) has appointed a wholly owned subsidiary of Hemas Holdings Plc as its exclusive shipping agent. The subsidiary, named Far Shipping Lanka Private Limited, will cater to customers trading along Singapore-Colombo routes.
Far Shipping Lines md, Yu Yong Jung said, "Our aim is to build customer confidence over a period of time by establishing regular and reliable service patterns. FSL has maintained services to areas where other operators have not maintained consistent services, thereby earning a reputation as the most savvy common carrier operators to certain ISC ports. FSL connects these ports to Colombo exclusively contributing to its transshipment volume".
FSL launched feeder services linking transshipment ports in Singapore and the Port of Colombo with the Indian Sub-Continent back in 2002. It subsequently expanded its network and now offers services connecting the Indian Sub-Continent and Arabian Gulf with transshipment ports in the Colombo Port. [13/03/08]
