Panama City: APM Terminals, Cosco Pacific, PSA International, Marine Terminals Corporation, and Hutchison Port Holdings have all entered the preliminary stages of the tender process for a mega port project in Panama, the government has revealed. To be based on an artificial island on the Pacific coast at the entrance to the Panama Canal, the port is likely to cost in excess of $600m. The winning bid will be announced by year-end. [19.07.06]
