Jeddah: Emaar Economic City in Saudi Arabia is to add a 10m teu capacity container terminal, as well as port facilities to handle drybulk and orther cargo vessels, as part of an expansion plan for the $26.6bn real estate project on the kingdom's Red Sea coast. The development, located north of Jeddah at Rabigh, is 45% owned by Dubai-based Emaar Properties, which is spearheading the project. [12/10/06]
