Greatship (India) inks jv with DOF Subsea ASA

Mumbai: Offshore oilfield services provider Greatship (India) Limited (GIL) has entered into a joint venture with DOF Subsea ASA named Greatship DOF Subsea Private Limited to take on subsea project opportunities in the Indian subcontinent.

"We are excited about Greatship's joint venture with the world's leading subsea project company," said Ravi Sheth, GIL md. "We are very bullish on the prospects of offshore oilfield development off the East Coast of India and we expect the JV to be a leading player in the subsea construction domain."

GIL currently operates six assets across the world and has twenty under construction. Its order book includes PSVs, mid-sized and large AHTSVs, MPSSVs, MSV, ROVSVs and a premium 350' jack up rig.

DOF Subsea ASA is a world-wide supplier of subsea services and is said to own the largest and most modern fleet of subsea construction vessels (including newbuildings) in the world.  [09/09/08]
