Singapore: With the line-up now ready, Seatrade and the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) are delighted with the high-level calibre of shipowners making for a keenly anticipated keynote opening session at next April's Sea Asia conference and exhibition to be held in Singapore.

Opening speeches will come from Douglas Hsu, the chairman of U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation and Group, Taiwan; Jong-Chul Lee, president and ceo of STX Pan Ocean, Korea; Yudhishthir Khatau, president of the Indian National Shipowners Association and md of Varun Shipping; Andreas Sohmen Pao, md of World Wide Shipping Agency Ltd, Hong Kong; Frederick Tsao, chairman of IMC Shipping Co, Singapore plus SS Teo, md of PIL and chairman of SMF. These six represent some of the biggest names on Asia's maritime scene and lend credence to the aims of Sea Asia to become a forum to develop the voice of Asian shipping.

In addition there will be introductory speeches by leading figures from the international community: Alberto Aleman, administrator of the Panana Canal Authority, and Spyros Polemis, chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping.

The inaugural event will run April 2-4 2007 at Suntec City. For more information on both the conference and the exhibition, visit www.sea-asia.com. [24/11/06]
