Seoul: South Korea's Hyundai Merchant Marine shipping line has revealed that it will deploy its recently delivered 8,600teu containership on the South China Express service it operates in conjunction with APL and MOL, writes Bloomberg. The vessel, which is part of a series of four sister ships commissioned from Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery by March, is expected to boost capacity on the route by 60%.
APL and MOL will also add two 8,000teu vessels each to the service, increasing annual capacity to about 430,000teu. The move comes in response to increasing trade along the routes.
The South China Express service calls at : Thamesport (UK) - Ningbo (China) - Hamburg (Germany) - Rotterdam (Netherlands) - Singapore - Shanghai (China) and Hong Kong (SAR). [18/01/08]
