Hong Kong: Maersk Line has roared back to the east Asian yards with orders placed in the last week that dwarf entire containerline companies. Shipbroker Clarkson Asia, in a weekly roundup, identified 22 ships of 4,500 teu ordered at Hyundai Heavy Industries and a further nine 7,500 teu ships ordered at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. Maersk's fleet is now well past the 2m slot mark, putting some distance between it and its nearest size competitor, MSC. [16/6/08]
