Miclyn withdraws from $33m Saudi Aramco contracts, picks up two new deals in SEA
Singapore: Miclyn Express Offshore has withdrawn its two offshore support vessels Miclyn Grace and Miclyn Grand from $33m contracts with Saudi Aramco due to issues revolving around their "technical suitability" for their intended use, the company said.

The two vessels were chartered in November 2011 and were due to start work this year as multi-purpose vessels for the company.

They have been redeployed to Qatar for a three-year firm charter plus two one-year extension options with HBK Power Cleaning, in support of their offshore platform maintenance services in the region. Contract value was not disclosed.

Miclyn separately announced that their Thai joint venture, Uniwise Offshore, had been awarded a three-year firm contract with two one-year extension options to provide coil tubing marine support services for Chevron's production activities in the Gulf of Thailand. Uniwise bought a platform supply vessel currently under construction in a Chinese shipyard to fulfill the contract, which is due to start in October.

The company also announced the charter of subsea support vessel Miclyn Endeavour by PT Seascape Surveys Indonesia under a two-year deal, with the vessel to support its subsea, survey, inspection and repair activities. The total value of both  contracts is $23.8m.
