The Chinese yard claimed that the eco-friendly tankers will consume only 16 metric tonnes of fuel a day, and the ships are designed to run at 14 knots.
Financial details of the deal and the delivery dates for the newbuildings were not disclosed.
In late September, Ming De had delivered a 30,000-dwt stainless steel chemical tanker to its owner.
