Nam Cheong pens order for offshore vessel quartet
Singapore: Offshore vessels builder Nam Cheong penned a letter of intent to sell four multi-purpose platform supply vessels (MPSVs) to Bumi Armada, Malaysia's largest offshore oil field services provider.

The letter of intent includes an option to build four additional units, making the contracts worth approximately $130m.

“In just the first six months of this year, the contract value of our orderbook is expected to soar to MYR874m ($137.4m) after conclusion of the sale, surpassing last year's orderbook of MYR638m,” said Leong Seng Keat, executive director at Nam Cheong.

“We have been seeing rising demand for PSVs and AHTS vessels in the global OSV industry and are encouraged that we are securing repeat orders from our established customers,” Leong added.

Upon the executive of the contracts, the MPSVs will be built as part of Nam Cheong's build-to-stock series in one of its subcontracted yards in China.
