The parcel tanker, which will be completed in February 2017, will be equipped with advanced eco-ship design and installed with 43 stainless steel cargo tanks.
The versatile chemical tanker is the seventh unit ordered by NYK Stolt Tankers, following the six that the company currently holds and operates.
“NYK will aggressively maintain a competitive fleet with joint venture partner Stolt Tankers in the growing chemical market by operating parcel tankers that offer needed complex, high quality operations,” NYK said in a statement.
In addition to NYK Stolt Tankers, NYK and Stolt Tankers have also established a parcel tanker company within the Asia region and it currently operates 11 parcel tankers around 10,000 dwt under the name of Stolt NYK Asia Pacific Service.
