Doha: Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas) expects to restart liquefied natural gas (LNG) production from its Qatargas 1 plant by 22 January, following a machinery breakdown.
Separately, Qatar's annual LNG production capacity will reach a record 62mn tonnes next year, double the existing level, HE the Minister of State for Energy and Industry, Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada has said.
All 14 LNG trains planned will be fully operational at Ras Laffan within two years, helping Qatar clock 77mn tonnes per year LNG production capacity, he said at the Meed Qatar Projects 2009 Conference. Gas is likely to surpass oil in Qatari revenues this year. [20/01/08]
