Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia's state oil firm Petronas got its subsidiary Petronas Gas to develop a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal to provide regasification services at the country's west coast near the Sungai Udang Port in Malacca.
Two floating storage units will receive and store the LNG before it is regasified, which will then be transported to other parts of Malaysia.
Malaysia's regasification facilities will have a maximum capacity of 3.8 metric tonnes per year.
The project is expected to be completed by July 31, 2012. [08/12/10]
