Mumbai: The Rickmers-owned 5060teu containership Maersk Dhaka (pictured) was responsible for the rescue of 22 crew members of the sinking Panamanian bulker Clinker Carrier off the Indian Coast on Wednesday July 4.
The 2005-built vessel, originally christened Margrit Rickmers, was nearby when the bulker issued a distress signal and was able to assist with the rescue operation as per the instructions of the local rescue coordination team. After rescuing the crew, the Maersk Dhaka continued its voyage to Mumbai, where the castaways disembarked. [09/07/07]
