Singapore: The 3rd Seatrade Asia Awards will return to Singapore on 26 April 2010 during the Singapore Maritime Week and will once again be celebrated in black tie glamour and style. A total of 21 awards will be presented, to raise the profile of maritime development across Asia and to underscore excellence in the fields of innovation; commitment to safety and quality; social and environmental responsibility; enterprise and achievement, as well as education and training.
Amongst the 21 Awards, there are some new categories this year, including the Seatrade Young Person of the Year, recognising an individual of below 40 years of age who has made an exceptional contribution to the industry in the region.
Commenting on the Seatrade Young Person of the Year award, Christopher Hayman, Chairman of Seatrade said: "It is important to recognise the younger members of our industry who have made good contributions so that they can act as role models and attract more young people to the industry. They represent the future of the maritime industry after all."
