Manila: ShipServ reports that its TradeNet e-marketplace, the shipping world's largest, now serves more than 75 shipping companies with over 2,200 vessels, meaning some 2.5m purchasing transactions will likely be handled this year. Business volume jumped 40% in a single month at the beginning of the year, leading ShipServ to open a local office in Singapore. Total workforce has thus risen to nearly 60 people, a quarter of which are employed in Manila where the IT department is now based.
ShipServ ceo Paul Ostergaard will deliver a presentation on e-purchasing on April 4 at the Sea Asia conference in Singapore, with TradeNet exhibiting on stand L 05 at the accompanying exhibition. [20/03/07]
