Singapore: Singapore, the number one container port in the world, saw box throughputfall for the first time since 2001 last month.
Container traffic dropped by 1.5 per cent in November from a year ago to 2.29m teu, Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority said. Monthly traffic volume has been slowing since July, although total shipments have increased by 9 per cent to 27.8m teu through November from a year ago. [17/12/08]
