Squire Sanders has been granted a license by the Attorney General’s Chambers to open an office in Singapore. The Singapore office is to be headed by partner Ignatius Hwang, an infrastructure and projects specialist, who will be supported by a team of three lawyers.
With the office Squire Sanders is aiming to grow its shipping practice. “The addition of an office in Singapore is of strategic importance to the firm. One of the world’s busiest ports, Singapore is a vital shipping and commercial hub in Asia and provides a gateway to the other important economies of the region,” Brian Starer, global head of Squire Sanders’ maritime practice.
“This is the start of an exciting new phase in growth for our global maritime practice,” added Dharmendra Nair, Squire Sanders’ London-based shipping partner.
