Seoul: STX shipbuilding has delivered the 51,300 dwt product tanker, St Marien, to current charterers Rudolf A. Oetker KG (RAO). The vessel, owned by Hong Kong based Parakou Shipping, has been leased to the Hamburg Süd Group subsidiary for the period of one year.
The new vessel and its twin, St Johannis (also chartered by RAO), are each 183 metres in length, 32.2 metres wide and capable of transporting up to six different products - from crude oil and heating oil to aviation fuel and edible oil - in their coated cargo tanks.
St Marien is currently transporting vegetable oil from Indonesia to Europe on her maiden voyage. [07/03/07]
