Hanoi: Vietnam is to receive $3.9m from Norwegian sources for investments in human resource development over the next three years. The aim of the investment is to improve Vietnamese shipbuilding technology, management and product quality control to international standards.
While $1.8m of the total amount would be funded by the Norwegian government, the remainder of the money would be supplied by three Norway-based companies, Det Norske Veritas, Hoegh Autoliner and Jotun Paint, all of whom are involved in the shipbuilding industry.
The agreement was signed (pictured) by the Norwegian ambassador Kjell Storlokken and Vietnamese minister of planning and investment, Vo Hong Phuc. [24/05/07]
