Nigel Hill, chaiman of Wallem, said that Doughty and his wife had decided it was time to leave Hong Kong to return home to be with their daughters and aging parents.
Doughty will stay on in the role of ceo of the Hong Kong-headquartered shipping services company until a replacement is found.
Wallem has started an executive search for his replacement appointing Jennifer Curtis at Cripps Sears in London to find a successor.
“In the meantime, Simon, myself and the Wallem Group Board of Directors are focused on ensuring that it is business as usual,” Hill said.
