The southern Chinese port city of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, has officially starts bonded bunkering service for ships on international voyages.

Guangzhou Port Authority was granted permission by national government in December 2021, and officially issued implementation measures to allow operation of bonded bunkering services.

The qualified bonded oil supply companies in Guangzhou could provide direct supply of bonded fuel within the area of Guangdong province.

The port authority said provision of bonded bunkering service will improve the integrated service capacity of Guangzhou port and enhance the international influence of Guangzhou being a shipping hub.
