The 13 vessels, comprised of LNG carriers and FSRU's, are equipped with a total of 52 Wärtsilä engines, which, under the new agreement, will be remotely monitored and maintained to provide continuous optimal performance using Wärtsilä Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) system.
The deal also covers advisory services, and a guarantee to provide personnel and spare parts as and when they are needed.
"One of Golar LNG's strategic assets is our operational excellence,” said Per Rolid, fleet manager at Golar LNG. “We want to maintain the highest standards for safety and reliability. This closer cooperation with Wärtsilä helps us to avoid unnecessary downtime and to keep our fleet in top condition at all times.”
Johan Hansten, Wärtsilä’s Europe & Africa sales director, added: "This comprehensive agreement is very important to Wärtsilä, as we expand our partnership with Golar LNG to include new services. With this service agreement, we can continuously optimise the performance of the Wärtsilä engines already in use in the Golar LNG fleet.”
