More than 90 top-notch industry specialists have committed to speaking at CMA Shipping expo & conference which returns next week to Connecticut – celebrating its 37th edition across 3 days of conference, exhibition and networking.

Brought to the industry by Connecticut Maritime Association and organised by Informa Markets, CMA Shipping takes place from 29-31st March at the Hilton Stamford Connecticut, USA and culminates in the annual Commodore Awards Gala Dinner where the passing of the hat and 2022 Commodore Award will be presented to Mr. Gary Vogel, Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc.

The Award is given each year to a person in the international maritime industry who has contributed to the growth and development of the industry.

Amongst the 80+ confirmed speakers are: Guy Platten, Secretary General, International Chamber of Shipping; Michael Lund, Deputy Secretary General, BIMCO; John McDonald, EVP and CEO, ABS; Chris Aversano, President/Product Manager, Connecticut Maritime Association/Q88 LLC; Jeffrey D. Pribor, SVP & CFO, International Seaways, Inc.; Robert Bugbee, CMA Commodore 2014/President & Director of Scorpio Tankers and Unni Elnemo, Director, International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA).

Chris Morley, Group Director, Maritime, Informa Markets, said: “Since our successful ‘in-person’ event last October, this edition is set to be even more filled with content and conversation – all pointing to why this event is indicative of the importance of this agenda to connect the North American shipping community worldwide through a powerful conference programme, complemented by a free to attend exhibition.”

With a focus on a ‘decade for action’, CMA Shipping will address multiple topics which fall into the following streams – bunkering; CLE Credit – It’s all legal; Decrabonisation & Alternative Energy; Digitalisation; finance; Freight markets; Integrated Logistics; Salvage & Wreck and of course, State of the Industry sessions.  Not forgetting the popular Commodore Debate.

Another highlight and free to attend is this year’s expo, which features more than 80 world class exhibitors on the expo floor.

The expo hall will showcase leading technology, maritime equipment, fuel and lubricant, safety and sustainability suppliers, ship repair, navigation and communication, software solutions, energy, salvage and emergency response solutions providers, insurers, and maritime recruiters and entry is free.

Addressing any concerns that the industry may have around attending the event, Chris added: “We want to reassure you that we will remain vigilant, keeping a close eye on local guidelines and working alongside our venue partner in providing and maintaining a clean and safe environment for all attendees.”

As organisers of the event, Informa Markets has adopted Informa AllSecure - 10 key commitments agreed in collaboration with association partners, venues, suppliers, contractors and health, government and local authorities globally to develop industry-wide All Secure best practise guidelines that raise the bar on safe, hygienic, productive and high-quality organised event experiences.  More details are available on the event website.
