As maritime markets in the Middle East prepare for a future shaped by new and unexpected challenges, Seatrade Maritime is on the hunt for the leaders of tomorrow.

Nominations are now open for the Seatrade Maritime 20 Under 40 scheme, which is supported by Global Maritime Club and will shine a spotlight on the top 20 industry professionals in the Middle East who are under the age of 40.

As maritime markets in the Middle East prepare for a future shaped by new and unexpected challenges, Seatrade Maritime is on the hunt for the leaders of tomorrow to form the foundations for its brand new 20 Under 40 community – a definitive guide to the top young industry professionals working across regional industry sectors.

Nominations are invited from all sectors until Thursday 30 September, at which point a soon-to-be-announced selection committee will holistically evaluate each candidate against a criterion that enables the best, brightest, and boldest talent to shine through. There is no defined metric that is a silver bullet for joining the ranks and each candidate will be evaluated on individual merit.

“We are really delighted that this year we are able to inaugurate the Seatrade Maritime 20 Under 40 scheme – an initiative that will enable our industry to recognise the young talent that is not only spearheading the development of maritime markets in the Middle East, but also showcase the tenacious ambition of those who have the potential to be tomorrow’s leaders” said Chris Morley, Group Director – Maritime Events.

The final 20 will be announced during Seatrade Maritime Middle East 2021, which takes place under the patronage of the UAE Ministry for Energy and Infrastructure as part of UAE Maritime Week 2021, where those who have been successful will be invited to collaborate with Seatrade Maritime throughout 2022 on a series of industry briefings, reports and speaker opportunities.

“Our Seatrade Maritime Awards platform provides opportunities to celebrate the achievements of a young person in the Middle East, and the complementary 20 Under 40 scheme is an additional opportunity that really focuses on identifying, nurturing and supporting the future of our industry in this region,” continued Morley.

You can nominate yourself or someone else for Seatrade Maritime 20 Under 40, where all nominees must be 40 or under as of Monday 13th December 2021 and work within a role that is directly involved in maritime or shipping markets in the Middle East. Nominations must be submitted by Thursday 30 September. To begin a nomination, please click here.
