The Ecolift F900 vessels of 13,300 dwt each feature two cranes with a combined lifting capacity of up to 900 metric tonnes.
Frank Fischer, managing director of tonnage procurement at Intermarine, said the company has partnered with China’s CSSC Leasing to provide these vessels with long term charters.
The new ships will be delivered from Hudong and Wenchong shipyards starting from 2017 and continue throughout 2018.
The newbuildings will increase the number of vessels in the Intermarine fleet with more than 800 metric tonnes lifting capacity from six to 12.
“The vessels are an efficient upgrade to our existing bridge-forward F-Class ships. They have the advantage of better stability, larger holds, improved cranes and reduced consumption,” said Fischer.
“The six Ecolift F900s complement the 15 Ecolift F500s already on order,” said Al Stanley, president andceo of Intermarine. “Given the increased environmental regulations, we focused on developing a Fleet of the Future that meets the current and future standards, while providing a stable level of capacity for our clients – the Ecolift F900 meets those goals.”
Earlier this year, Intermarine announced the ordering of 15 Ecolift F500’s to kick off the Fleet of the Future fleet renewal program. The Ecolift F500’s will begin delivery in the second quarter of 2016.
