Ningbo-Zhoushan has launched operations of a new 100,000 tonnes-class large size container berth located at Jintang port area.

The new container berth at Jintang port area, is 340 metres long and 59 metres wide, started construction in 2019.

Along with the number one and number two berth at Jintang, the three berths will effectively improve terminal handling capacity and reduce terminal receiving time for domestic vessels, which is expected to be available for international vessels berthing in the future.

As the worlds third busiest container handling port, Ningbo-Zhoushan continues to improve its port infrastructure and enlarging its handling capacity to meet the growing vessel berthing demands.

The port recently opened two container berths for international vessels at its Chuanshan port area and Meishan port area to ease cargo handling pressure.
