Following an international call for tenders launched in October 2012, Port Authority of Abidjan has chosen SOGET and Bureau Veritas - BIVAC consortium to implement the last generation of Port Operating System SOGET POS. The contract has been signed on June 12th.
In the context of the Port Authority of Abidjan’ strategy to enhance port management and operation tools as part of its ambitious goals to become the major hub of African Atlantic cost, Port Authority of Abidjan initiated major reforms including at Port Operating System level.
Based on the latest Microsoft technologies, the new system developed by SOGET and named "SOGET POS" will allow more efficient management of vessel calls, cargo transit, services invoicing, statistics production and customers relationships.
Furthermore to enable fluid data exchanges among port stakeholders, SOGET POS will be interfaced with PAA navigation system as well as shipping companies' information systems.
Jacques Ritt, CEO of SOGET stated "Already a leader in Port Single Windows in Africa with systems in operation in Port Louis, Mauritius and Cotonou, Benin, this project in Abidjan will strengthen our presence in Africa. As port communities' facilitator, it is a great honor for my company to have the opportunity to work with Port of Abidjan.".
SOGET POS will go live in Abidjan on 2014 first semester.
