The Singapore Registry of Ships (SRS) has passed the 100 million gt mark with the registration of an AET VLCC.

The registry reached the 100 million gt milestone with the naming of the 156,000 gt, Eagle Veracruz on 23 January.

The SRS is administered by the Maritime & Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and home to over 4,000 vessels.

“The SRS is integral in enhancing Singapore’s value-add to the world as an international maritime centre, by bringing together top shipping groups from across the world, and ensuring the needs and interests of the global maritime community are well represented,” the MPA said.

The Eagle Vercruz is an LNG-dual fuel VLCC and has a main engine built on a modular concept to allow for future retrofit options to potentially run on low-and zero-carbon fuels.
