Hudong-Zhonghua Pudong shipyard to be transformed into technology demonstration zone

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, Hudong Heavy Machinery and Shanghai Jinqiao Group have signed strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop an economy innovation & development demonstration zone in one of Hudong-Zhonghua’s shipyard areas in Pudong, Shanghai.

The cooperation is a move by Shanghai Municipal Government and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) to deepen their cooperation and seek for innovation and development opportunities along Huangpu river.

The shipyard area will be developed into a demonstration zone for leading and cutting-edge technologies including 5G, artificial intelligent and big data.

Hudong-Zhonghua is a core shipbuilding unit of CSSC. The company consists of one yard headquartered in Pudong, and another two of Shanghai Shipyard and Jiangnan-Changxing Shipbuilding.

The production bases of the yard are in Pudong, Puxi, Changxing Island and Chongming Island of Shanghai.
