Shipping technology firms ZeroNorth and Alpha Ori Technologies have received regulatory approvals for their merger and will integrate under the brand ZeroNorth.

The merger of Singapore-based Alpha Ori Technologies into ZeroNorth will see the integrated company headquartered in ZeroNorth’s homebase of Copenhagen. The management team will be led by ZeroNorth’s current CEO Soren Mayer.

The combined company serves more than 4,500 vessels from 200 companies in providing ship optimisation software. Alpha Ori Technologies’ high frequency data and expertise in IoT sensors will be integrated into ZeroNorth’s capabilities in resource management, predict maintenance, monitor hull performance, optimising voyages, digitalising bunker operations, tracking and reporting emissions reporting.

ZeroNorth CEO Meyer commented: “Today marks the next bold step for a new ZeroNorth. The combined company will have the size to accelerate the impact on the shipping and maritime value chain. It is a statement of intent to the market, underlining the power and potential of our partnership and platform to support customers' economic and environmental strategic goals.

Bala Sankaran, Co-CEO, Alpha Ori Technologies, added: “I’m proud to have founded a company that delivers value to our customers and brings technology and data to the forefront in making global trade green.”
