The ultra-high specification jack-up rig, scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2016, will be deployed in the North Sea.
The jack-up rig is capable of operating in water depths of up to 150 m in harsh environment conditions, with a maximum total drilling depth capacity of 10,000 m.
“Clinching this prestigious project marks another milestone for us and attests to Jurong Shipyard's ability to build harsher and more sophisticated drilling rigs,” said William Gu, general manager of Jurong Shipyard's offshore division.
The Singapore-based yard is currently building six jack-up rigs worth a total of $1.3bn for Noble.
