ST Engineering wins US tug barge contract
Pascagoula: ST Engineering's US shipyard, VT Halter Marine, has won a contract to build an Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) for new York based oil barging company Bouchard Transportation Co.

The 625ft, 250,000 barrel capacity barge will be used to transport liquid petroleum and will be certified for Jones Act service by ABS and the United States Coast Guard. The XA1 Towing Vessel classed ATB tug will have a 10,000bhp twin screw setup and an interconnected coupler system.

Construction of the vessel is due to start in April 2013 with delivery scheduled for mid 2015 when the vessel will enter service for Bouchard in New York.
