ANL takes over Perkins International Shipping from Toll Group

ANL takes over Perkins International Shipping from Toll Group
ANL is taking over Perkins International Shipping service from Australian logistics provider Toll Group.

The move sees ANL taking control of Perkins Darwin – Dili – Singapore multipurpose service, which is currently operated by two vessels.

“This is an excellent growth opportunity for ANL as Darwin has been a missing link in our Australian port coverage. The service to be renamed ‘Perkins ANL Xpress’ or PAX will commence around 2 August and will offer customers a new level of shipment options through ANL’s worldwide network of services,” said John Lines, managing director of ANL.

As part of the new service ANL will be opening a new office in Darwin, which will focus on developing ANL Container Hire and Sales and ANL Logistics.

“Our new Darwin office will promote the new shipping service as well as offering shippers tailored logistic solutions through ANL Logistics and ANL Container Hire,” said Lines.

ANL is understood to be keen to keep the Perkins name, which is long established in Australia’s Northern Territory.

Toll Group bought Perkins Shipping in June 2009. ANL is part of the CMA CGM Group, the world’s third largest container shipping company.
