CNOOC to add five more LNG terminals by 2015

CNOOC to add five more LNG terminals by 2015
China is keeping up with its drive towards greater liquefied natural gas (LNG) use with China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) saying it plans to add five LNG receiving terminals by 2015, more than doubling its total capacity to 35-40m tonnes per year (tpy), Reuters quoted a senior company official as saying.

CNOOC's four current terminals have a receiving capacity of 18.7m tpy, and the new terminals will boost its capacity to import more LNG to meet strong demand growth as China tries to increase its use of natural gas to 8% of its total energy usage by 2015 from 5% currently.
