Cosco shipyards bag $366m bumper newbuilding orders
Three subsidiary shipyards of Cosco Corporation (Singapore) have bagged orders for new ships worth a total of $366m including options.

Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard won contracts from a Netherlands-based company to build two platform supply vessels (PSVs), which are scheduled for delivery in the third quarter of 2015. The deal includes an option for two additional PSVs.

A Singapore-based company has also went to the Guangdong yard to build two PSVs, scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2015. The buyer has penned an option for six additional units.

Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard confirmed a deal with an European-based company to construct four 64,000 dwt dry bulk carriers. The bulkers are slated to be delivered in the second half of 2014 and the first half of 2015. The contract comes with options for two additional bulkers.

Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard clinched contracts from a China-based agency to build two salvage lifting vessels, scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2015.

The Dalian yard also grabbed orders from BigRoll Shipping to build two module carriers of 21,000 dwt each. The carriers are slated for delivery in May 2015 and August 2015, respectively. The buyer has secured options for two additional module carriers.
