The Malaysian offshore support vessel provider said in a statement that it had appointed Petronas Lubricants International’s ceo and former MISC president Amir Hamzah Azizan, as a replacement for Jamal effective 1 March 2016.
Amir who is currently also Petronas vice-president for its lubricants business, will also be appointed to the board.Icon said the company and the Yusof brothers, Jamal and Rahman mutually agreed not to renew their contracts.
Rahman's role will be assumed by the current deputy ceo Hassan Ali, who has been leading the company during Jamal’s and Rahman’s leave of absence.As an interim measure, Icon has redesignated Abdul Rahman Ahmad, from non-executive director to executive director until 29 February 2016. Abdul Rahman is the ceo of Ekuiti Nasional , the single largest shareholder in Icon with almost a 50% stake.
