International Paint unveils Singapore HQ, new coatings
Singapore: In a move indicative of maritime industry's shift towards Asia coatings firm International Paint has opened a new headquarters in Tuas, Singapore.

“Headquartering our business at this time in Singapore will further enhance our global position and will facilitate the development of growing markets in Asia-Pacific,” said Oscar Wezenbeek, director sBU Marine Coatings, International Paint. “With Singapore’s owned tonnage being one of the highest in the world and with China, South Korea and Japan representing nearly 90% of the world’s newbuilding capacity and China now leading in the number of drydocks and drydockings, Asia will be an increasingly important market for us in the future.”

The announcement follows the unveiling of International Paint’s two latest coatings: Intercept 8000 LPP, a biocidal linear polishing polymer coating, and Intersleek 1100SR, a biocide free fouling control coating, both of which boast “predictability in antifouling performance not seen since the days of the benchmark tributyltin” according to the company.
