MISC installing offshore VP Abu Fitri to head up MMHE
Some reshuffling is going on at Malaysia's MISC with its vice president for offshore business, Abu Fitri Abdul Jalil joining its offshore engineering unit Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings (MMHE) as its managing director and chief executive office.

He succeeds current md and ceo Dominique de Soras with effect from1 March 2015, when the latter's contract expires on 28 February, the company said in an announcement.

The incumbent, de Soras has served MMHE as in that role since February 2011 and the board has approved the end of his contract of employment on 28 February, from which he will also cease to be a non-independent executive director of the board.

“Abu Fitri will be appointed as a non-independent non-executive director on 1 February 2015 to facilitate the smooth transition of responsibilities before assuming the appointment as md and ceoas well as non-independent executive director of MMHE,” MISC said.

Prior to his appointment in MISC in March 2013, Abu Fitri, 49, was the senior general manager, petroleum operations management in Petronas. He joined Petronas in January 1991 and had held various senior positions within Petronas both in Malaysia and overseas.
