The world's largest shipbuilder recorded a net profit of KRW252.7bn ($223.3m), up 16% from KRW301bn seen in the same period of last year.
Revenue was up marginally to KRW3.54trn during the quarter.
Earnings during the period were offset by higher operating costs at KRW336.9bn, an increase of 14% quarter-on-quarter.
